Can cancer patients be successfully treated? Yes, patients can be cured to cancer. Continuous advances in early diagnosis, radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy improve patient outcomes every year.

Cancer is treated in a number of ways including radiotherapy (using radiation to treat), surgery (performing operations to treat) and chemotherapy (using drugs to treat). Often, a combination of these techniques will be used – sometimes referred to as multimodality treatment. The primary aim of treatment is to eradicate the cancer. Individual patient care is, however, central to any treatment and may also include ways to improve quality of life, careful follow-up and control.
