The Super Run brings together ESTRO congress participants, exhibitors and patients in the same effort in the fight against cancer, more concretely, by raising awareness of the benefits of using radiotherapy to cure cancer.

The Super Run is introduced as a healthy and educational event bringing together radiotherapy patients and professionals to raise awareness around radiotherapy: demonstrate the ability of patients to still have an active life and build local communities around the radiotherapy topic.

More than 800 radiation oncology professionals, patients and relatives of radiation oncology met in Barcelona on 22nd April 2018, during the ESTRO Congressto raise awareness about the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle to prevent and combat cancer. The race bought together radiation oncology patients and professionals who want to raise awareness of the benefits of using radiotherapy in treating cancer as well as the importance of maintaining an active life during and after treatment.

Among the participants of the Super Run, were Maite and Cristina Rodríguez Fischer, two sisters who, with their children and as a family, joined this awareness race:

“Our mother was a cancer patient and we believe that running for a cause that helps to give more visibility to the prevention and treatment of the disease is a satisfaction and an achievement”
